11/12/2025How to Style Kitchen Plans & Elevations with Entourage + (Free DWG Download)
A bare kitchen table or countertop looks sterile in a presentation drawing. While the walls and cabinets define the space, the “lifestyle” blocks—like plates, bowls, bottles, and jars—are what sell the design to the client. Adding these small details helps the client visualize themselves living in the home. However, drawing these small items from scratch is time-consuming.
In professional presentations, “Entourage” serves a functional purpose: it verifies scale. A dining table might look big enough on a plan, but once you place place-setting blocks, you might realize it’s too tight. Using a standard library of accessory blocks allows you to “stress test” your furniture layouts quickly.
Technical Guide: Best Practices for Accessory Blocks
Accessories should enhance the drawing, not clutter it. Follow these standards:
- Lineweight Control: These blocks should always be the lightest element on the page. Place them on a specific layer (e.g.,
A-FLOR-ENTR) with a lineweight of 0.05mm. This ensures they read as texture and do not compete with heavy furniture lines. - Elevation Placement: When placing bottles or jars in an interior elevation, ensure they sit exactly on the shelf line. Use the “Nearest” object snap to anchor them, preventing floating objects.

Styling needs furniture. Ensure you have:
- Dining Tables (C5) for these settings.
- Decor Blocks (B11) for vases and art.
