How to Design a Home Office in AutoCAD + Free Blocks
15/01/2026Guide to Outdoor Terrace Furniture in AutoCAD + (Free DWG Download)
Outdoor living spaces should be treated like indoor rooms. Without furniture blocks, a terrace looks like an empty concrete slab. Planning layouts for outdoor sofas and dining requires specific “outdoor-scaled” furniture, which is often bulkier than indoor pieces.
Designing a patio involves understanding flow and zones. Using a library of outdoor furniture blocks helps you verify that your hardscape design (pavers/decking) is large enough to accommodate the furniture arrangement you envision.
Technical Guide: Best Practices for Outdoor Blocks
Outdoor furniture is big. Plan accordingly:
- Circulation Zones: Account for circulation around outdoor dining sets. Ensure there is at least 36 inches of paved surface around a dining table for chairs to stay on the hardscape.
- Lounge Zones: Outdoor sofas are typically deeper (36-40″) than indoor ones. Use the correct block to ensure it doesn’t block doors or pathways.

- Plants & Trees (B3) for landscaping.
- Pool & Spa Blocks (D3) for water features.
