01/04/2025Construction Safety Plans in AutoCAD: Scaffolding & Fencing + (Free DWG Download)
A safe construction site is a well-planned one. AlBe studio has created a free DWG file of AutoCAD scaffolding and safety blocks to help you create your site safety and logistics plans.
Site safety plans are often required for permits. You need to show the perimeter fencing, the location of scaffolding, and safe pedestrian walkways. Using blocks for these temporary structures allows you to produce these drawings quickly without drawing every scaffolding cross-brace from scratch.
Technical Guide: Best Practices for Safety Blocks
Clearly define the perimeter:
- Fencing: Use a “Line-based” block or a dynamic block for site fencing that can stretch to any length. Ensure it fully encloses the work area.
- Scaffolding: Place scaffolding blocks around the building perimeter in plan view to check for encroachment on sidewalks or neighboring properties.
For construction safety standards, refer to OSHA Construction Standards.

Safety is part of logistics. Add:
- Machinery (G3) for equipment locations.
- Signage (A7) for safety warnings.
